I want to thank you for the nice weekend we had in Assen.
I have enjoyed working with you Freddie, I have learned a lot about how to set up the chassis of a bike, and I know now how a good rider works.
Hope to see you next year in the 250 cc European cup class.

Hello racefans,
At this moment Patrik,Fredrik,Linda and Rufes are travelling home.
Lets hope it will be a safe and not so long time journey!.
Leaving home this morning the sun was already shining and many
motorbikes where passing me on the road to Assen.
The Watz crew enjoyed saturday evening...warmup started late...
Willy/Jan prepared the bike almost perfect (its never perfect) so
no rush and stress.
During the warmup Willy was upset...."Whats happening???,Fredrik
is not on the result list"..."Patrik is third!".
When Patrik came into the pitbox he got congratulations from everybody!
Well now we can tell Willy the truth...there was a transponder switch...
So Fredrik third and the same laptime comparing practice. "The bike is
ok" Fredrik said.....I know dreams don't come true..but maybe,maybe
Fredrik is able for a very good result.
Waiting for the race was no problem,a lot of sun and walking around the
paddock is never borring.
Around 15:00hour it was time to go to the parc fermé..when I came there
I say that Patrik got two beautiful pitgirls around him...sometimes I want
to be a racer to.....
At the grid the ladies (thanks Jan!) where standing beside Fredrik...thumbs up
for a good race!.
The start was very good and at the first straight end Fredrik was fourth behind
Roelofs,Gevers and Smees. The gap was a little bit to big to get the slipstream
of the fast Aprilia's.
After five laps Beitler and Markham where passing Fredrik and Fredrik was not able
to follow.....problems with the bike?
Halfway the race was not very exciting anymore...Hans Smees first with a gap off 8seconds
Gevers..third Roelofs + 10, fourth Beitler + 15, fifth Markham + 16, sixth Fredrik + 20 and
seventh Velthuizen + 22.
At the last corner Mike Velthuizen was able to pass Fredrik....so 7 at the end......
Whats happened with the bike?.....nothing said Fredrik..after 4 laps my wrist was hurting
and the underarms muscles where "pumped". The pumping gets more and more..so
the feeling was gone..braking was very difficult...
Ok....these things happened..you don't always get what you want..
Frustrating?....well racing is 90% frustration and 10% succes....
No blaming on Fredrik..he did a perfect job for the team this weekend a we all enjoyed
his way off racing.
Patrik's race?.....after 5 laps he retired..maybe to much pressure after the warmup result?
At 17:30hour it was time to say goodbye....Fredrik,Linda and Patrik thank you so much
for the weekend!

Hello racefans,
After a goodnight sleeping there was no reason to hurry...first practice at 11:00hour.
A look at the sky...well the sun is trying is to get trough,little bit cloudy but no wind so good race circumstances.
Last race Fredrik left the Honda with a best laptime of 1.49,8.....after the first practice Fredrik was able to get 1.49,5 and he was fourth fastest.
Not bad,but Fredrik was not so impressed with the times..."I still got suspension problems on the front,we have to work on it"..
"Much" work for the mechanics,but its nice working when the bike gets faster and faster...
Patrik was enjoying being on the track and his laptime 2.06 means 18th place.
Not only working at the bike(s)...also time to talk with many riders/people passing bye.
Second practice took place at 15:00hour...the weather was still nice and the first run Fredrik was
riding together with Toby Markham. Coming into the pit the time was already 1.48,3...more important it looks like that the suspension problem is solved!.
The second run Fredrik and the Honda both likes racing and the time was now 1.47,8!...one more
time in,little changes and than again faster?..no the practice is to short (when you got enough time?).
Fredrik was satisfeid with the bike.."It feels confident now"..."Maybe tomorrow I can start pushing"...
Patrik was 2seconds faster comparing to the morning session "enough improvement for today" he said...

The 12 lap race is starting at 15:15hour.

Hello racefans,
After a long journey Patrik,Fredrik,Linda and the dog Rufes (right way spelling?) arrived early friday morning at the Assen circuit.
The circuit/welcome center was closed till 16:00hour....raindrops were falling on the roof....so time to get some sleep.
I don't say that the sun was shining when they all woke up..but it was dry and more teams arrived at the welcome center area.
Willy Pomper also arrived and after visit the welcome center, Patrik was riding the bus just in front off pitbox 30.
Unpacking/installation pitbox took not so long and at last Fredrik's Honda and Patrik's Yamaha were placed "on the table".
The last months the Honda got some new parts and the "swedish coloured" bike looks ready for racing...well just wait and see!
This evening there is time to visit friends on the paddock...and maybe "little" work on the bike(s).
Saturday weather forecast: 19 degrees and rain possibility 50%.
23 competetors 250cc got there practice at 10:30hour and 15:00hour.
Tomorrow evening "everything" about Assen practice day!

En veldig bra helg, helt til starten på løpet gikk... Sturla stod igjen, og kom vel ut som nest sistemann. Det ble umulig å jobbe seg opp i tetklyngen, og dagens resultat ble 13. plass. Robert Gull fikk til bedre, og ble nummer 6. Johann Zarco vant (og har dermed sikret seg sammenlagtseieren). Cameron Beaubier ble 2, og Matthew Hoyle 3.
Nå skal vi se løpene i morgen før vi setter kursen mot Norge igjen. Neste helg er det finale i Nordisk Mesterskap(Scandinavian Open) på Falkenberg. |

Det ble kjørt to 35 minutters kvalifiseringer med kun en halvtimes pause i mellom nå i ettermiddag. Sturla var 5. raskest etter første kval. På andre kval forbedret han seg ytterligere på rundetid, men det ble litt knoting med trafikk, pluss at det nok røynet litt på kreftene mot slutten av kvalen. Dermed ble det 7. startspor kun 3 tiendedeler bak 3. startspor. Uansett et veldig bra utgangspunkt, og det er tett opp til de foran på listen. Pole position mannen er i en klasse for seg. Deretter ligger førerne ganske likt.

| Kanonstart på helgen! Det ble 3. raskeste tid på fritreningen. Johann Zarco er raskest (1.52.8), Matthew Hoyle 2 (1.53.1), Sturla 3 (1.54.7), Robert Gull 8 (1.56.7). Vi fikk bare 15 minutters fritrening pga en krasj i 125 klassen. Estoril er en vanskelig bane, men morsom! Neste er kvalifisering kl. 16.05 |

Hei
Da har vi kommet til Estoril. Kjempeflott vær, så det ligger an til en fin race-weekend. Estoril er en fin by. Vi spiste lunsj på strandpromenaden, og kjente såvidt på badetemperaturen før vi dro til banen. Temperaturen var veldig fin, så kanskje det blir et bad i Atlanterhavet også!
I morgen er det fritrening kl. 12.25. Deretter kvalifisering kl.16.05 og 16.50. Løpet går på lørdag kl.16.15.

Hello racefans,
After the warmup session Fredrik was again fastest.
Lap time 1.08,4 means dry track,second man Robert Dobrich
was 0,8seconds behind Fredrik.
Well....no live timing so just wait for the race results on the internet.
Not such good news...Fredrik crashed at the 13 lap. Fredrik was riding
the fastest lap times....for sure Linda will give more info about the
reason Fredrik crashed.
Linda informed me that Fredrik was a little hurt in his back,but the
doctors said nothing was broken.....
Lets hope that Fredrik is able to walk without pain the coming days and
that he recovers soon!.

First practice looks like a dry session....fastest man on the track?...FREDRIK!
The two last laps where very quick...
Second practice the times about 12 seconds slower as first practice...rain?
Fredrik was not on the track.

Hello racefans,
FREDRIK WINS EC 250cc RACE AT KARLSKOGA!!!!
After the first lap Fredrik was third behind Molina and Markham.
Molina,Markham,Sommer and Fredrik where battling great fights. The gap with
Smees,Petrini was about 3 seconds.
Molina,Sommer where missing halfway race distance (both crashed?),and so Markham
and Fredrik where on there own.
10 laps before race end Toby Markham was out.....FREDRIK was leading his homerace!.
The gap with Petrini,Smees was 6 seconds,and Fredrik was racing good laps times...so
just stay on it....
I was counting the laps and after 32 laps Fredrik finished first!
